First, a confession: When I was learning to code, my “workflow” was a mess. Sticky notes. Google Docs. Random Trello boards I never checked again. And a to-do list that somehow never got any shorter.

Two weeks is not enough to learn everything — and trying to is exactly how people waste it. It is enough to get genuinely sharp if you do two things: triage ruthlessly to the rounds you will actually face, and spend the back half simulating the real interview rather than reading about it. The candidates who pull off a strong two-week sprint are not the ones who cover the most ground; they are the ones who pick the right ground and rehearse it out loud until it is automatic.

But fluid conversation isn't the same as evaluation. From a philosophical standpoint, I see developers operating with a flawed concept of knowledge. They treat it as a collection of keywords. This misapprehension is failing candidates and failing companies.

If you have a podcast, radio, TV or press interview coming up, you can rehearse it with an AI journalist. One tool that does this is VirtualInterview.ai. It asks for your headline, follows up when an answer runs long or slides away from the question, and scores how well your message held up. But the tool matters less than how you rehearse, and most people just read their notes aloud once.
